In recent years, the Winnegamie Home Builders Association membership has stepped up its community involvement and visibility.

WHBA ‘Builders Care Projects’ have included:

-Contributing $50,000 in financial & labor resources to build a new YMCA in Oshkosh.

-Awarding thousands in annual scholarships to local students pursuing careers in the home building industry.

-Donating & assisting in Habitat for Humanity home building projects.

-Donating materials & labor for building maintenance projects at Christine Ann Abuse Shelter.

-Co-hosting the HomeStyle Kitchen Tour benefiting Christine Ann Center’s kitchen renovation.

-Coordinating toy collection for Winnebago County’s annual Toys for Tots program.

-Assisting in Oshkosh Celebration of Lights.

-Assisting in annual Oshkosh Southwest Rotary projects.

-Donating nonperishable food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry collected at Home Shows and Parades.

FVTC Residential Building Construction Program

1-year Technical Diploma, S.J. Spanbauer Center, Oshkosh

If you enjoy building and remodeling, you will want to consider this exciting, 1-year technical diploma program. Our small class size and intensive hands-on training format, combined with your effort & commitment to excellence, will put you in a strong position to fill the many jobs available in the industry.

Program Description

Designed for anyone interested in a career in residential construction. The hands-on program will prepare you for employment with residential builders, remodelers, subcontractors, material suppliers and other specialists closely-allied with the residential building market.

Construction theory and lab practice will be taught at Fox Valley Technical College's S.J. Spanbauer Center in Oshkosh. You will gain hands-on field experience through the construction or remodeling of a complete residence to be built on-site within the FVTC district. This full-time day program is for 1 year - delivered in a three-semester format, with an entry in January and August as openings exist.
